The National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs (NCAVP) addresses the pervasive problem of violence committed against and within the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) and HIV-affected communities. NCAVP is a coalition of programs that document and advocate for victims of anti-LGBT and anti-HIV/AIDS violence/harassment, domestic violence, sexual assault, police misconduct and other forms of victimization.
The King Center's "Nonviolence or Nonexistence" program promotes Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s philosophy and methods of nonviolence, the most powerful tool we have for creating social change in America and around the world. Nonviolence is not only a method for social change, but a positive way of life that becomes part of all of our personal relationships and everything we do in our homes, communities and political and business life. It is a permanent attitude that is reflected even in the choice and tone of words and way of thinking.
The Violence Policy Center (VPC) works to stop the annual toll of death and injury through research, advocacy, and education. The VPC approaches gun violence as a public health issue, advocating that firearms be subject to health and safety standards like those that apply to virtually all other consumer productst.
The M.K. Gandhi Institute for Nonviolence provides educational programs aimed at conflict prevention, anger management, diversity training, and relationship-community-building. They are spurring the development of nonviolence groups, communities of friends, students, and practitioners of nonviolence - forming a network of moral support for each other and fortifying the collective project of peacemaking all over the world.
